Before you start
You can use this form to check whether your child, aged between 4-16 years old, is eligible for free school meals. If your child is eligible, your application for free school meals will be automatically submitted and we will advise your child's school of your eligibility. If free school meals are granted, we will also use the information you have provided to assess your child's eligibility to free home to school transport under the councils extended rights transport criteria.
You do not need to complete this form if your child(ren) is already receiving free school meals.
All children are eligible for free school meals if they’re in reception class; year 1; or year 2. We still ask that you apply using this form to prevent your child's school missing out on additional funding.
Before you complete this form, please make sure you have your:
- National Insurance (NI) number;
or - National Asylum Support Service (NASS) number.
